What a Night at Gallery Park! ⚽️
Last night brought two cracking games of soccer from our U14 boys, and we couldn’t be prouder of their performances.
First up our B Team
They faced Shannon Hibs in their final league game, and what a contest it was! The boys showed off great skill, determination, and teamwork, with some brilliant saves and classy goals. James and Adam H both found the net, and Thomas K scored an absolute cracker of a free kick to make it 4–3 at the finish.
To come so close against the league winners speaks volumes about the heart and fight in this squad. Every player gave it everything right to the final whistle a fantastic effort all around.
Next our A Team
After a six week break, Moneypoint A returned to action in the Division 1 Cup against Bunratty Cratloe. The opening 20 minutes were tight, with few chances either way, before super-sub Olaf Konieczko made an instant impact pressing hard, showing persistence, and finishing coolly to put us ahead.
Just before half-time, Adam Roche struck another one of his trademark free kicks to give us a 2–0 lead.
In the second half, Olaf added his second after great work from Tymur Mikaelian, before Tadhg Moloney slid one through the keeper’s legs to make it four. TJ Lillis then capped it off with a rebound finish from his own volley.
The 5–0 scoreline doesn’t tell the full story Bunratty Cratloe battled bravely throughout but our lads showed real grit as well as skill to secure the win.
