After a slow start, we conceded a sloppy early goal, but the lads responded brilliantly and quickly took control of the game.
The equaliser came when Lucas finished well after a great cross from James Fitzpatrick. Just 8 minutes later, Abed produced a moment of magic, firing a powerful shot into the top corner, assisted by Roan Mahony. Momentum was firmly with us, and only a minute later James Fitzpatrick added another with a superb chip over the keeper to make it 3-1.
We started the second half brightly and continued to dominate. Midway through the half, Thomas Kelly reacted quickest in the box to finish from the penalty spot and extend our lead. Avenue Utd pulled one back with 10 minutes remaining, but the response was immediate — Lucas grabbed his second of the evening to seal a fantastic 5-2 win.
