A second outing for our newly formed U13 girls saw them take on a very strong and well-established Tulla side.

After conceding an early goal, the girls showed great character and began to settle into the game, playing some lovely football.

Their efforts were rewarded when the very skilful Fiadh Kirwin found the net, marking a special milestone as the club’s first ever goal at this age group.

Chances came and went for both sides, while goalkeeper Lauren Brown delivered an outstanding performance, pulling off a series of excellent saves to keep her team in the game. Tulla’s experience eventually showed, but there were so many positives to take from the performance.

Defensively, Ella Mae Russell was rock solid, alongside the energetic Sophia McAuley, while Ruth Blunnie showed some lovely touches throughout. In midfield, Charlie Cunningham led the charge, driving the team forward with great determination.

All 17 players played their part in a very entertaining game, gaining valuable experience in what is a very competitive division. The progress is clear to see already, with some excellent phases of play developing as the team continues to grow together.

A big thank you to the parents for their fantastic support once again.
Well done to all involved, back to training on Tuesday before we hit the road to Newmarket on Friday evening for the next challenge 💪⚽
