What an evening!
A great game of soccer this evening saw two determined teams battle it out in awful wet conditions. 
Moneypoint started strongly and created several chances to take the lead, but the Ferns goalkeeper was in fine form, pulling off some excellent saves throughout the game.

Ruth Blunnie eventually opened the scoring with a well-taken shot into the bottom corner. Chances came and went at both ends, with the Moneypoint defence holding firm until a breakaway goal brought Ferns level. 
Ferns were then awarded a penalty but failed to capitalise.

In the second half, Moneypoint regained a deserved lead through a well-taken goal from Emma Whelan. 
Once again, the Ferns goalkeeper made a number of vital saves to deny us extending the lead. 
Ferns eventually equalised after a mix-up at the back that we just couldn’t clear, with the ball ending up in the back of the net.

There was some lovely soccer played and a never say die attitude shown by both sides. 
Moneypoint nearly snatched a dramatic late winner, but the Ferns goalkeeper once again produced a fantastic save to ensure the game finished 2-2.

A fabulous game played by all and another important step in the development of the girls. Well done everyone!
