Despite the result and the weather this was a mighty display from the Moneypoint boys against Moher, with excellent performances all over the pitch from our goalkeeper right through to the forwards.

The first half finished level thanks to some superb defending and great teamwork throughout the side. Moneypoint started the second half brightly, with Matthew Malone opening the scoring to give us the lead. Moher responded to make it 1-1, but Matthew struck again soon after to restore Moneypoint’s advantage at 2-1.

The lads pushed hard for a third goal and came very close, but Moher managed to level again at 2-2. With just five minutes remaining, Moher capitalised from a corner to edge ahead 3-2, and despite a strong finish from Moneypoint, that’s how it ended.

A tough result to take, but huge credit to the entire squad for their effort, determination and the massive strides they are making every game. The improvement and confidence in this team is clear to see, and plenty more good days lie ahead.
