Our U15 Boys kicked off their season with a difficult test against Avenue and got off to a slow and shaky start. The visitors struck twice early on before we had a chance to settle into the game. Despite creating several good opportunities and getting plenty of shots away, we couldn't find the breakthrough we needed.

Avenue added a third goal before the interval, leaving us with a mountain to climb.

To their credit, our lads showed great character after the break and came out looking like a completely different team. They pushed forward at every opportunity and were finally rewarded for their efforts. A superb corner from Thomas Hogan found Adam O'Brien, who finished brilliantly past the goalkeeper to get us on the scoresheet.

Adam was unlucky not to add a second shortly afterwards when his penalty crashed off the crossbar. However, the boys kept battling and were awarded another spot-kick later in the half. Callum Maloney stepped up and calmly slotted home to reduce the deficit further.

The lads continued to create chances right up until the final whistle and never stopped working for each other. While the result didn't go our way, there were plenty of positives to take from the second-half performance. The determination, effort, and resilience shown by the team were excellent, and there is plenty to build on as the season continues
