In very difficult conditions due to the high temperatures, our lads showed great determination and character to come away with an impressive 6-2 victory.
We made a slow start and conceded shortly after the first water break. The response was excellent, with Roan finishing off a well-worked move after great play from Abed to level the game. Just before half-time, James delivered a dangerous cross that flew all the way into the bottom corner to give us a 2-1 lead at the break.
We started the second half brightly, putting Ennis Town under constant pressure. James grabbed our third with a powerful header from a Lucas corner. Ennis Town pulled one back just before the second water break, but our lads stayed focused.
Roan restored our two-goal cushion with a superb strike from outside the box. Rian then finished off another excellent team move by calmly slotting into the bottom corner for our fifth. James completed his hat-trick in style, finishing confidently past the keeper from the left side of the box.
