What a performance from our Under 11 Girls tonight with only 8 girls wow! Captained by Allie this evening ⚽️
With the odds slightly stacked against them, the girls produced a display that would have made even Sir Alex Ferguson proud.
The first half showed just how much this team has developed, with some excellent passing and teamwork as the girls continue to grow together. A strong Bunratty/Cratloe side managed to break the deadlock before half-time, but our girls never let their heads drop. Instead, they dug even deeper and battled for every ball.
The second half was full of determination, resilience and quality football. Ashley Potemska marshalled the defence superbly, making crucial clearances, while Áine Mahoney O'Brien was outstanding alongside her, with both defenders proving incredibly difficult to get past.
Going forward, sisters Theola and Kara Neylon linked up brilliantly, creating several excellent chances throughout the game. Unfortunately, the Bunratty goalkeeper was in inspired form, producing a number of fine saves to deny Moneypoint a deserved goal.
Although the result didn't go our way, the girls can be immensely proud of their performance. They kept Bunratty scoreless in the second half and fought right until the final whistle, showing fantastic character, teamwork and determination.
The improvement this group is making week after week is there for everyone to see. Their hard work on the training ground is paying off, and they continue to be a credit to themselves, their coaches and Moneypoint AFC.
