Our U12s faced a very strong Newmarket side in the Shield and, despite the final score, the players showed tremendous determination and character from start to finish.

Newmarket made a fast start and raced into a 3-0 lead, but the Moneypoint players refused to let their heads drop. Their hard work was rewarded when Adam K pulled a goal back to keep the lads battling.

Newmarket added two more goals, but once again Moneypoint responded positively, with Shay M finding the net. The second half saw Newmarket take control and add further goals, but our players never stopped working, competing, and encouraging one another until the final whistle.

While the result didn't go our way, the attitude and commitment shown by every player was something to be proud of. These are the games that help players grow, and the effort shown throughout is exactly what coaches want to see.

A special mention goes to U11 player Shay E, who stepped up to help the team this evening and gave an excellent account of himself.
