Lees Road Blitz Day ⚽💙💛
What a fantastic day for our youngest stars at the Lees Road Blitz!
Barry and Conor are two very proud coaches.
Our U8s travelled to their second-ever blitz full of confidence and excitement, and they certainly didn't disappoint.
They got off to the perfect start with a brilliant victory over Tulla United. Their second game against Coole A proved to be a much tougher challenge, but the boys played some excellent football, scored some fantastic goals and our goalkeepers pulled off some outstanding saves. Despite a tremendous effort, they were just edged out by a strong Coole side.
The final match against Coole C saw the boys determined to bounce back. They produced some excellent passages of play, showcased superb skills and were rewarded with some brilliant team goals. Coole C also played some lovely football, making it a very entertaining game that finished in a well-deserved draw.
Most importantly, the boys showed fantastic respect throughout the blitz, shaking hands with their opponents after every game and representing Moneypoint AFC with great sportsmanship.
Our U7 boys and girls also took part in their second blitz at Lees Road today, and for some it was their very first experience. You certainly wouldn't have known it!
The team played against Kildysart, Coole A and Bunratty A, producing some fantastic football and scoring some superb goals along the way. Every player gave their all, showing incredible commitment, enthusiasm and teamwork throughout the day.
Just like our U8s, they displayed brilliant sportsmanship by shaking hands with every team after each match, making everyone at Moneypoint AFC proud.
A massive thank you to all the parents, families and supporters who came along to cheer the children on. Seeing the smiles on their faces and the enjoyment they got from the day is exactly what soccer is all about.
Well done to every single player—we're so proud of you all, and we can't wait to see you all at training on Monday.
