A very entertaining game despite there being no goals to report. After last week's performance, Moneypoint were determined not to make another slow start, and from the first whistle the lads worked tirelessly both on and off the ball.

Both teams created plenty of chances throughout the game, but neither side could find the breakthrough. A special mention goes to Cian McM from our U13 squad, who was called up to stand between the posts. Cian showed great confidence and maturity, proving he is more than capable of competing with the older lads by putting in an excellent performance between the sticks.

Every player on the pitch deserves huge credit and should be very proud of their efforts. It was undoubtedly the team's best performance of the season so far, and it's fantastic to see the improvement they are making with every game.

Moneypoint came closest to breaking the deadlock when Luke F picked up the ball in the centre circle and drove purposefully towards goal. As the defenders backed off, Luke unleashed a powerful strike that beat the goalkeeper but agonisingly crashed back off the upright with only minutes remaining.

The lads continued to press until the final whistle and almost snatched a winner from a late corner, but after a goalmouth scramble, Ennis Town managed to clear their lines before the referee brought the game to an end.

While the result ended in a scoreless draw, Moneypoint can take plenty of positives from a performance that suggested they were the stronger side overall. The hard work and determination shown by every player was there for all to see.

Attention now turns to Friday evening, when Moneypoint travel to The Fairgreen to take on Banner Rovers in the cup. Best of luck to the lads!
